Spherically Symmetric Exact Vacuum Solutions in Einstein-Aether Theory

Odd-parity stability of black holes in Einstein-aether gravity

Summary: In Einstein-aether theory, the stability of black holes against odd-parity perturbations on a spherically symmetric and static background was studied. General conditions for the absence of ghosts and Laplacian instabilities in the dynamical fields were derived. The results were applied to known black hole solutions, some of which were excluded due to violation of stability conditions. The exact Schwarzschild solution was found to exhibit Laplacian instabilities, but certain black hole solutions were shown to not have odd-parity instabilities.
