Phase synchronization between a light-dependent neuron and a thermosensitive neuron

Zhao Yao et al.

Summary: The nervous system is composed of functional neurons that work together to detect and transmit physical signals. In this study, synapse connection between light-dependent neurons and thermosensitive neurons is activated to investigate phase synchronization. Results show that changing coupling intensity can enhance phase synchronization even in the presence of noise, suggesting that neurons can synchronize and maintain robustness to external noise.

The hidden, period-adding, mixed-mode oscillations and control in a HR neuron under electromagnetic induction

Xinlei An et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the discharge patterns of a HR neuron under electromagnetic induction, including hidden, period-adding, mixed-mode oscillations, and their control methods. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations are combined to study the equilibrium points and stability in the system, as well as the existence of Hopf bifurcation points. The results provide insights into understanding discharge patterns and controlling membrane voltage transfer in the magnetic flux HR neuron system.

Memristive neuron model with an adapting synapse and its hardware experiments

BoCheng Bao et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the use of memristors to mimic the electromagnetic induction effect caused by neuron potential. A flux-controlled memristor is considered to imitate the feedback synapse effect, and a memristive neuron model with adapting synapse is presented. The model is three-dimensional and non-autonomous with time-varying equilibria, resulting in multiple stabilities and the coexistence of multiple firing patterns. Hardware experiments show diverse coexisting firing patterns and confirm the accuracy of the numerical simulations.

Chaos-Based Engineering Applications with a 6D Memristive Multistable Hyperchaotic System and a 2D SF-SIMM Hyperchaotic Map

Fei Yu et al.

Summary: In recent years, chaos theory has been applied to practical engineering fields, with hyperchaotic systems demonstrating higher sensitivity and unpredictability in complex engineering applications. This paper explores new engineering applications based on hyperchaos PRNG and image encryption, proposing a new PRNG and image encryption algorithm that exhibit good security and high effectiveness in information security and encryption systems.

Design and FPGA Implementation of a Pseudo-random Number Generator Based on a Hopfield Neural Network Under Electromagnetic Radiation

Fei Yu et al.

Summary: A pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) based on a feedback controller using a Hopfield neural network chaotic oscillator is proposed to suppress chaotic degradation caused by numerical accuracy constraints in FPGA-based neural network systems. The system utilizes the magnetic flux across neuron cell membranes as a feedback condition to disturb other neurons, preventing periodicity. Implementation and synthesis on FPGA using Verilog HDL code, along with simulations on Vivado 2018.3 software, demonstrate high security and randomness in the generated binary data, verified through statistical tests. Additionally, an image encryption and decryption system based on the PRNG design is successfully implemented and validated through simulation and security analysis.
