Drastic enhancement of mechanical properties of Ca3Co4O9 by B4C addition

Hippolyte Amaveda et al.

Summary: The addition of B4C as an additive to Ca3Co4O9 led to the formation of bridges between grains, significantly improving mechanical properties. Additionally, B4C reduced electrical resistivity, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion, resulting in an increase in ZT values, reaching 0.24 at 800 degrees C in samples containing 0.25 wt.% B4C, which is close to the best reported values in literature.

Enhanced thermoelectric composite performance from mesoporous carbon additives in a commercial Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 matrix

Seong-Tae Kim et al.

Summary: In this study, composites were prepared by adding carbon materials with different pore size distributions into commercial Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 thermoelectric material, resulting in improved thermoelectric properties. The composites effectively decreased thermal conductivity and increased the figure of merit, leading to significantly enhanced output power, offering a new approach for performance optimization of commercial thermoelectric materials.

Thermoelectric power properties of Ge doped PbTe alloys

A. M. Adam et al.

Summary: Stoichiometric Pb1-xGexTe crystalline alloys were synthesized and their crystal structure and thermoelectric properties were investigated. Highly Ge-doped samples exhibited the highest thermoelectric power factor at high temperatures. A noticeable reduction in electronic thermal conductivity due to Ge doping was observed, which could lead to a considerable enhancement in the thermoelectric figure of merit.

Thermoelectric properties and phase transition of doped single crystals and polycrystals of Bi2Te3

Anatoly I. Romanenko et al.

Summary: The study investigates the temperature dependences of electrical properties of Bi2Te3 and doped samples, revealing a phase transition at 120-200K. Both single crystals and polycrystalline samples exhibit quasi-two-dimensional electron transport, with changes in Fermi energy and thermoelectric performance observed.
