An innovative strategy to regulate bimodal cellular structure in chain extended poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) foams

Summary: A facile and effective approach for manufacturing PBAT foams with bimodal cellular structure was proposed using chain extension and batch supercritical CO(2) foaming technology. By introducing EGMA and adjusting foaming temperature, the size of cells and the bimodal cellular structure in PBAT foams were successfully controlled. This study demonstrated improved melt strength, viscoelasticity, and crystallization properties of PBAT after modification with EGMA.
