Guest induced morphology transitions of star shaped pillar[5]arene trimer via endo host-guest and exo-wall electron-transfer interactions

Wajahat Ali et al.

Summary: The star shape bridged pillar[5]arene trimer (C3-PLT) based on benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTAs) shows outstanding guest responsive morphology transition properties through the addition of competitive guest molecules G1 and G2, leading to the formation of different supramolecular structures.

CO2 and photo-controlled reversible conversion of supramolecular assemblies based on water soluble pillar[5]arene and coumarin-containing guest

Yufeng Cao et al.

Summary: A new supramolecular amphiphile was constructed based on water soluble pillar[5]arene and a unique guest with CO2 responsive and UV responsive properties. The self-assembly process formed various structures under different conditions, offering potential for on demand drug absorption and release. The study was characterized using TEM, SEM, DLS, SAXS, and NMR technologies.

The relationship of morphology and catalytic performance of CeO2 catalysts for reducing nitrobenzene to azoxybenzene under the base-free condition

Xueke Zhou et al.

Summary: The morphology of CeO2 was found to be crucial for reducing nitrobenzene to azoxybenzene under base-free conditions. By synthesizing CeO2 catalysts with different morphologies, it was discovered that an increased Ce3+ proportion led to higher azoxybenzene yield, with the Rod-CeO2 catalyst exhibiting the best performance. This study also indicated that the selectivity of azoxybenzene was enhanced by inhibiting the formation of the by-product azobenzene.

Rapid Reaction, Slow Dissociation Aggregation, and Synergetic Multicolor Emission for Imaging the Restriction and Regulation of Biosynthesis of Cys and GSH

Huming Yan et al.

Summary: Biothiols such as cysteine, homocysteine, and glutathione play crucial roles in oxidative stress and cell homeostasis, with fluorescent probes being useful in detecting their concentrations and functions. Understanding the biosynthetic pathways of these biothiols and their relationships is significant for studying diseases like cardiovascular diseases and cancers. The research also reveals the interaction between cysteine and glutathione biosynthetic pathways in cells for the first time.
