Effective removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solution in hybrid system utilizing agricultural waste as particle electrodes

Summary: A study comparing electrolytic, adsorption, and hybrid methods for removing malachite green dye from water using Eucalyptus globulus seeds found that the hybrid method was most effective at 12 V voltage, with removal capacity increasing with higher voltages. The mixed biomass showed promising results for the removal of lead ions and was deemed a potential biosorbent for lead removal.

Summary: Oxides supported Activated Carbon (Ox-ACs) were prepared from Calophyllum inopyllum via pyrolysis and acid treatment, with cobalt and nickel oxides doped on the surface. These doped Ox-ACs showed efficient photocatalytic degradation of Methylene Blue, with the incorporation of Co2+ and Ni2+ ions significantly enhancing the degradation rate. The kinetic study using Langmuir-Hinshelwood model showed good fitting, and the recyclability test confirmed the stable performance of the catalysts for effluent dye degradation.
