Interfacial Super-Assembly of Ordered Mesoporous Silica-Alumina Heterostructure Membranes with pH-Sensitive Properties for Osmotic Energy Harvesting

Shan Zhou et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates an interfacial super-assembly strategy for fabricating ordered mesoporous silica/macroporous alumina (MS/AAO) framework-based nanofluidic heterostructure membranes with low membrane inner resistance and excellent ion selectivity. The power density of the membrane can reach up to 4.50 W/m(2), which is significantly higher than conventional 2D nanofluidic membranes, showing potential for large-scale production and practical applications.

Crystal structures, luminescence, and DFT study of mixed-ligand Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes with phenyl-containing benzimidazole derivatives with linker C=-N or N=N group

Svetlana E. Korolenko et al.

Summary: The photoluminescent properties of zinc(II) and cadmium(II) compounds with benzimidazole derivatives L1 and L-2 containing different electron-donating ligands were studied, revealing that L-1 compounds are green luminophores while L-2 compounds are red luminophores. The relationship between luminescence intensity, emission band position, and complex composition and structure was analyzed using X-ray diffraction data and density functional theory calculations.

Surface-modified mesoporous silica nanorods for the highly aging resistance rubber through controlled release of antioxidant

Yang Luo et al.

Summary: This study focuses on a novel nanocarrier, surface thiol functionalized mesoporous silica nanorods, that can limit the migration of antioxidants and enhance the anti-aging performance of rubber. Encapsulating antioxidants in the pores of nanocarriers can increase the effective action time of antioxidants. This approach shows great potential in applications such as sealing rubber and conveyor belts.

An off-on-off fluorescence chemosensor for the sensitive detection of Cu2+ in aqueous solution based on multiple fluorescence emission mechanisms

Aimei Zhou et al.

Summary: A new hybrid material AHBH-PMOs with excellent optical properties was synthesized by co-condensation of a new organosiloxane precursor and tetraethylorthosilicate. The AHBH-PMOs nanoparticles exhibit aggregation induced emission and intramolecular charge transfer, allowing high sensitivity and selectivity in responding to Cu2+ in aqueous solutions. Coordination interaction between AHBH and Cu2+ was demonstrated, indicating potential applications in environmental monitoring.
