Poly(Alkyl-Terphenyl Piperidinium) Ionomers and Membranes with an Outstanding Alkaline-Membrane Fuel-Cell Performance of 2.58 W cm-2

Nanjun Chen et al.

Summary: The study introduces aliphatic chain-containing PDTP copolymers to enhance the performance of AEMFCs. By reducing phenyl content in AEIs and improving mechanical properties in AEMs, PDTP materials exhibit excellent performance indicators such as mechanical properties, fuel barrier properties, ion conductivity, and stability.

Insight into the Alkaline Stability of N-Heterocyclic Ammonium Groups for Anion-Exchange Polyelectrolytes

Nanjun Chen et al.

Summary: The study reveals that N-heterocyclic ammonium (NHA) groups with electron-donating substituents exhibit better alkaline stability, while electron-withdrawing groups are harmful. Different degradation pathways determine the alkaline stability of NHA groups or NHA-based anion-exchange membranes.

Ligand Valency Effects on the Alkaline Stability of Metallopolymer Anion-Exchange Membranes

Kanika Aggarwal et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the effect of ligand valency on nickel-based metallopolymers and found that metallopolymers with hexacoordinated nickel ions and two tridentate ligands demonstrate superior stability. Comparative analysis of the stability of different metallopolymers provides design parameters for novel metallopolymers in AEM applications.
