MoS2/Paper Decorated with Metal Nanoparticles (Au, Pt, and Pd) Based Plasmonic-Enhanced Broadband (Visible-NIR) Flexible Photodetectors

Venkatarao Selamneni et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the fabrication of flexible visible/near-infrared photodetectors by functionalizing MoS2 with various noble metal NPs to enhance photoresponse. The metal NPs-MoS2-based photodetector shows a significant improvement in photoresponse characteristics compared to pristine MoS2, mainly due to the localized surface plasmon resonance of prepared metal NPs and the increase in incident light scattering. Among the fabricated metal NPs-MoS2 photodetectors, Au-NPs/MoS2 exhibits the highest responsivity, approximately 80 times higher than pristine MoS2, under visible and NIR regions.

Blue Emissive fac/mer-Iridium (III) NHC Carbene Complexes and their Application in OLEDs

Muazzam Idris et al.

Summary: The photophysical and electrochemical properties of N-heterocyclic carbene complexes of Iridium (III) were studied, showing differences in emission maxima and quantum yield in different solvents. The complexes exhibited efficient emission in polystyrene at room temperature and low temperatures. Notably, fac-Ir(tpz)(3) showed high external electroluminescence efficiency and brightness in blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes.

Three Types of Charged-Ligand-Based Blue-Green to Near-Infrared Emitting Iridium Complexes: Synthesis, Structures, and Organic Light-Emitting Diode Application

Chao Shi et al.

Summary: The study describes a novel strategy towards a series of charged ligand-based neutral iridium(III) complexes with adjustable color emission from blue-green to near-infrared. These complexes show excellent chemical and thermal stability, making them suitable for OLED devices with high external quantum efficiency, low efficiency roll-off, and turn-on voltage. This research provides new opportunities for optoelectronic applications of novel phosphorescent iridium(III) complex materials with tunable properties.

Molecular Alignment of Homoleptic Iridium Phosphors in Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Moon Chul Jung et al.

Summary: The orientation of facial tris-cyclometalated iridium complexes in doped films can be controlled by altering the physical shape and electronic asymmetry in the molecular structure. Oblate iridium complexes have a net horizontal alignment in the thin films due to favorable van der Waals interaction with the host material, while chemical asymmetries introduced by substituents affect the oblate shapes and orientation of the molecules. The fluorinated patches in the substituted derivatives reinforce horizontal alignment during deposition, resulting in improved efficiency in organic light emitting diodes.
