The Critical Role of nπ* States in the Photophysics and Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence of Spiro Acridine-Anthracenone

Larissa Gomes Franca et al.

Summary: The molecular photophysics and TADF mechanism in Spiro compounds are unique due to the rigid orthogonal C-C bridging bond between donor and acceptor. The photophysics process is highly complex, with unprecedented multiple anti-Kasha emissions from different singlet states, while the TADF mechanism is critically controlled by local acceptor n pi* states.

Physical Mechanism of Photoinduced Charge Transfer in One- and Two-Photon Absorption in D-D-π-A Systems

Xinyue Wang et al.

Summary: The theoretical study investigated the photoinduced charge transfer process of D-D-pi-A molecules, showing red shift in absorption spectrum and increased absorption intensity due to donor insertion. Visualization method was used to observe charge transfer in one- and two-photon absorption processes, with the thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole donor insertion showing the largest TPA cross-section. This work contributes to understanding D-D-pi-A molecules and designing molecules with large cross-section TPA properties.

Three States Involving Vibronic Resonance is a Key to Enhancing Reverse Intersystem Crossing Dynamics of an Organoboron-Based Ultrapure Blue Emitter

Inkoo Kim et al.

Summary: The development of narrow-band blue-emitting organoboron chromophores based on the multiple-resonance (MR) effect has become essential for constructing efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). These chromophores exhibit a combination of fluorescence and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), with a unique reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) mechanism enhancing their performance. The presence of vibronic resonance and strong vibronic rate enhancements in these chromophores allows for efficient RISC over a range of singlet-triplet energy gaps (Delta E-ST), making them stand out compared to conventional donor-acceptor emitters.
