Summary: In this study, broad-spectral-responsive photocatalysts O-doped g-C3N4/Red P (OCN/RP) heterojunctions were prepared by mechanical grinding at room temperature, which showed enhanced photocatalytic activity against organic pollutant malachite green (MG). The enhanced activity is attributed to the effective charge separation at the interface between OCN and RP, and O-2(-) and OH• were identified as the main active substances in MG photo-degradation on OCN/RP. This experiment provides a general strategy for preparing non-metal photocatalysts with broad-spectral responsibility and improved catalytic activity.
