Creative Construction of a Series of Chiral 3D Indium-Organic Frameworks with a umy Topology

Xin He et al.

Summary: In this study, three novel chiral 3D indium-organic frameworks were synthesized using 2,2'-R-2-biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid to bind with a cis-[InO4(mu 2-OH)(2)] octahedron. Crystal structure analyses revealed unique topologies for the frameworks, with framework 1 demonstrating high water stability and good CO2 sorption selectivity, while framework 3 showed high uptake capacity for C2H2, C2H4, and C2H6 at 273 K.

A New Molecular Recognition Concept: Multiple Hydrogen Bonds and Their Optically Triggered Proton Transfer in Confined Metal-Organic Frameworks for Superior Sensing Element

Jiao Lei et al.

Summary: A new sensing mechanism based on an indium-dihydroxyterephthalic acid metal-organic framework (MOF) was reported, utilizing spatially fitted analyte-MOF hydrogen-bond formation for selective recognition and analyte-H-bond assisted excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) for signal transduction. The resulting ratiometric emission provided ultrafast response, enabling the SNNU-153 sensor to selectively sense hydrazine among nitrogen-containing hydride analogs. This molecular recognition concept led to the development of a powerful N2H4 sensor with potential applications in various sensing elements.

Low temperature structures and magnetic interactions in the organic-based ferromagnetic and metamagnetic potymorphs of decamethytferrocenium 7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethanide, [FeCP*2]•+ [TCNQ]•-

Saul H. Lapidus et al.

Summary: The genesis of magnetic behaviors for different polymorphs of [FeCp*(2)][TCNQ] was identified through determination of low temperature structures using high-resolution synchrotron powder diffraction data. Analysis revealed that the polymorphs do not thermally interconvert, and structural differences between them were characterized. Computational analysis of spin couplings indicated strong intrachain magnetic interactions, with changes leading to different magnetic ground states.
