A novel electrochemical immobilization of Hg in CdSe QDs - modified graphite electrode and its improved performance in voltammetric determination of lead (II) ion

Summary: A novel metal ion sensor was fabricated by immobilizing Hg spheres on CdSe quantum dots modified paraffin wax impregnated graphite electrode. The sensor showed excellent selectivity and sensitivity in detecting lead ions at very low concentrations, and successfully tested in real samples of tap water and sea water. This electrode has great potential application in detecting metal ions at trace levels.
