Enhanced Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction Activity over NH2-MIL-125(Ti) by Facet Regulation

Xiao-Mei Cheng et al.

Summary: The study investigated the facet effect of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) on photocatalytic processes by synthesizing NH2-MIL-125(Ti) with different ratios of {001} and {111} facets. It was found that increasing exposed proportion of {111} facets enhanced the activity in photoreduction of CO2. The {111} facets exhibited significantly higher photocatalytic activity and quantum yields compared to the {001} facets, with an important role in inhibiting electron-hole recombination.

Zirconium-Based Metal-Organic Framework Particle Films for Visible-Light-Driven Efficient Photoreduction of CO2

Pei-Xian Li et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared MOF films for photocatalytic CO2 reduction, achieving good photocatalytic activity and reusability. By measuring photocurrent response and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of the PET@NH2-UiO-66 film, it was confirmed that the electron-hole pairs in the film separate rapidly.

An iron-nitrogen doped carbon and CdS hybrid catalytic system for efficient CO2 photochemical reduction

Jin-Han Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, an iron-nitrogen doped carbon catalyst was fabricated using iron porphyrin and carbon black, which enabled a high CO production yield and large turnover number in driving CO2 reduction to CO under UV/vis light irradiation. The mechanism of the system, including the high affinity between the iron active center and the *COOH intermediate, was investigated through experimental and theoretical methods. This work presents a new direction for constructing heterogeneous CO2 photoreduction systems.
