Nickel foam supported NiFe2O4-NiO hybrid: A novel 3D porous catalyst for efficient heterogeneous catalytic ozonation of azo dye and nitrobenzene

Cuiyun Feng et al.

Summary: Efforts to develop efficient, stable, easily separable, and recyclable heterogeneous catalytic ozonation (HCO) catalysts have been ongoing for several decades. In this study, a NiFe2O4-NiO nanohybrid catalyst grown on 3D porous nickel foam showed high activity, stability, and recyclability for degrading organic dyes and nitrobenzene via HCO. The catalyst's performance is attributed to its large number of Lewis acid sites, unique structure, and synergistic effects of the NiFe2O4/NiO interface.
