Effect of calcium ferrites on carbon dioxide gasification reactivity and kinetics of pine wood derived char

Synergistic effects of co-gasification of municipal solid waste and biomass in fixed-bed gasifier

Co-gasification demonstrated synergistic enhancements in carbon conversion efficiency, gas yield, and cold gas efficiency. Biomass CO2 gasification with CaO looping for syngas production in a fixed-bed reactor

Summary: The study found that a 2:1 ratio of N-2 to CO2 at 700 degrees Celsius resulted in a 25% reduction in CO2. The catalytic properties of CaO increased the concentration of H-2 in the produced syngas by up to 10%. However, a temperature of 800 degrees Celsius was too high for the carbonation reaction of CaO.

Summary: The study shows that simultaneous efficient CO2 capture and heat storage performance can be achieved by using Ca/Mg-based composites in a process coupling calcium looping and CaO/Ca(OH)2 cycles. The adverse effect of CO2 in air on CaO/Ca(OH)2 heat storage capacity is overcome by introducing calcium looping cycles, which also improves the subsequent heat storage capacities of the composite. Introducing heat storage cycles also promotes the CO2 capture reactivity of the composite.
