Ultrafast spin current generated from an antiferromagnet

Hongsong Qiu et al.

Summary: Antiferromagnets (AFMs) have the potential to push spintronic devices to terahertz range for high-speed processing, but their insensitivity to magnetic fields makes spin current manipulation difficult. By optically generating ultrafast spin currents in AFM/HM heterostructures, a new avenue for fundamental research into antiferromagnetism and AFM spintronic devices has been opened.

High entropy rare earth hexaborides/tetraborides (HE REB6/HE REB4) composite powders with enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption performance

Weiming Zhang et al.

Summary: The increasing electromagnetic hazards from the massive usage of electromagnetic technology have led to the need for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. Composite construction with high permittivity, high permeability, and impedance matching has been widely used, but challenges like high-temperature stability, oxidation, and corrosion resistance still need to be addressed. High entropy hexaborides/tetraborides composites show promising potential in enhancing dielectric and magnetic losses for improved electromagnetic wave absorption properties.

Rare Earth Orthoferrite Tuning of Transmitted Waves as Natural Metamaterials

Xinxi Zeng et al.

Summary: Research on using rare earth orthoferrites to tune transmitted waves by engineering thickness, composition, and temperature showed that thickness engineering conformed to the Beer-Lambert law, while doping had a strong impact on the transmitted waves. Additionally, a thermal anisotropic energy manipulation approach was developed by lowering the temperature. Rare earth orthoferrites are effective media in the THz range and show characteristics of natural metamaterials.

Microwave absorption performance of FeCoNiAlCr0.9 alloy powders by adjusting the amount of process control agent

Yuping Duan et al.

Summary: In the preparation of high entropy alloy powders, the addition of different amounts of absolute ethanol can affect the crystallinity and particle size distribution, as well as change the complex permittivity and permeability. Increasing the amount of PCA not only promotes reflection loss but also extends the effective bandwidth.
