Summary: In this study, mesoporous and macroporous nanosheets of Ag.Co3O4 were successfully synthesized with high catalytic activity for efficient removal of toxic dyes under natural sunlight. The exceptional activity of Ag.Co3O4 sample is attributed to its novel bimodal porous structure, high surface area, narrow bandgap, good electrical conductivity, and low charge transfer resistance, showing great potential for eliminating harmful dyes from industrial effluents.

Evaluation of structural, dielectric, magnetic and photocatalytic properties of Nd and Cu co-doped barium hexaferrite

Fabrication of binary metal doped CuO nanocatalyst and their application for the industrial effluents treatment

Summary: In this study, binary transition metal (Ce and Zn) doped CuO nanocatalyst was successfully fabricated through a facile co-precipitation technique. The doped sample exhibited significantly higher removal efficiency for MB dye compared to the pristine CuO sample, attributed to its higher surface area and tuned band-gap. The superior adsorption and degradation aptitude of the doped sample were also supported by a higher rate constant in the degradation process.

Graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide supported ZnO nanochips for removal of basic dyes from the industrial effluents

Summary: The synthesis of highly active and cheap photo-catalyst materials consisting of ZnO nanochips assembled over graphene derivatives, ZnO@GO and ZnO@RGO, was investigated. Results showed that ZnO@RGO had higher efficiency with 2.4 and 2 times higher kinetic rates for RhB and MB removal, respectively, attributed to the partially restored conjugated structure of RGO leading to better charge migration across semiconductor-carbon heterojunctions. The active species involved in the degradation process were systematically investigated, and a photo-catalytic mechanism was proposed, demonstrating good recyclability and resistance to photo-corrosion for both ZnO@GO and ZnO@RGO even after 360 minutes of consecutive photo-catalytic activity.
