Lead-Free BiFeO3-BaTiO3 Ceramics with High Curie Temperature: Fine Compositional Tuning across the Phase Boundary for High Piezoelectric Charge and Strain Coefficients

Bowei Xun et al.

Summary: The study investigated the performance of high-temperature BiFeO3-BaTiO3 piezoelectric ceramics and established a phase diagram, showing that the BF-0.30BT ceramic had an excellent charge constant and was located at the optimal point in the monoclinic phase boundary, while the BF-0.3513T ceramic exhibited superior strain coefficients. The mechanisms of performance enhancement differed between the two ceramics.

Relaxor behaviors enhance piezoelectricity in lead-free BiFeO3-BaTiO3 ceramics incorporated with a tiny amount of Bi(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O3 near the morphotropic phase boundary

Yang Yin et al.

Summary: Research has shown that nonergodic relaxor ferroelectrics near the morphotropic phase boundary are favorable for enhancing the piezoelectric and electrostrain properties of materials, thereby reducing the energy barrier for polarization rotation.

Improvement in photovoltaic response of bismuth ferrite by tuning its ferroelectric and bandgap properties

Arti et al.

Summary: Pristine and Mn-doped bismuth ferrite samples were prepared using sol-gel method, showing changes in crystal structure and magnetic properties, with a decrease in grain size. The significant modifications in ferroelectric and photovoltaic properties of the BiFe1-xMnxO3 samples make them a promising candidate for photovoltaic applications.

Lattice effects on the multiferroic characteristics of (La, Ho) co-substituted BiFeO3

Pittala Suresh et al.

Summary: The co-substitution of La3+ and Ho3+ in BiFeO3 significantly affects its structural, electrical, and magnetic properties, suppressing impurity phases, promoting grain growth, and notably increasing the dielectric constant. Additionally, the co-substitution improves magnetic properties, with 'Ho' enhancing magnetization values and 'La' increasing the magnetic coercivity.

Mossbauer studies of Zn-substituted BiFeO3 multiferroic

Guoqing Liu et al.

Summary: This work investigates the structural and magnetic effects of BiFe1-xZnxO3 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25) multiferroic materials synthesized via a sol-gel auto-combustion method. Results show that Zn-substitution in BiFeO3 has adverse effects on the formation of pure BiFeO3, leading to a magnetic destruction due to a phase transition or successful ion substitution.

Impact of (Zr, Cu) Ion Substitution on the Optical, Dielectric, and Impedance Behavior of BiFeO3

A. Sathiya Priya et al.

Summary: This paper reports the enhanced optical and dielectric properties of (Zr, Cu) dual-doped ceramics prepared using a cost-effective sol-gel method. The study reveals the potential of these ferrites in visible light photocatalysis and their improved dielectric response, making them promising for high-frequency devices. Impedance spectroscopy confirms the semiconductor behavior of the materials.
