Excellent energy storage properties over a wide temperature range under low driving electric fields in NBT-BSN lead-free relaxor ferroelectric ceramics

Zhenhao Fan et al.

Summary: By adding BaSnO3 into the Na0.46Bi0.54TiO3 matrix, (1-x)NBT-xBSN ceramics exhibit a more pronounced relaxor behavior and slimmer P-E loops, with improved resistivity and breakdown strength. At a low driving electric field, the ceramics show simultaneously a large recoverable energy density and high energy efficiency, with small variations over a wide temperature range, demonstrating superior temperature stability.

Thermal stability of dielectric and energy storage performances of Ca-substituted BNTZ ferroelectric ceramics

Yunyao Huang et al.

Summary: This study synthesized Ca-substituted BNTZ ferroelectric ceramics using a solid-state reaction technique, showing structural evolution by X-ray diffraction and revealing a pseudocubic structure with P4bm symmetry. The temperature-dependent dielectric properties exhibit a clear and broad peak, with improved thermal stability as x increases. Composition x=0.07 achieved a recoverable energy storage density of 2.79 J/cm(3) with an energy storage efficiency of 76%, demonstrating superior properties over other BNT-based systems. Introduction of ions without contributing to polarization enhances the thermal stability of dielectric and energy storage performances in BNT-based ceramics.
