Source apportionment of mercury in surface soils near the Wuda coal fire area in Inner Mongolia, China

Fei Cao et al.

Summary: The Wuda coalfield in Inner Mongolia, China has faced serious coal fire disasters for more than half a century. Studies have shown that coal fires and industrial sources release mercury into the environment and have negative impacts on soil quality. Measures should be taken to reduce mercury contamination sources in the area.

Exergy-based investigation of a coal-fired allam cycle

Jing Luo et al.

Summary: The study confirms the high efficiency of coal-fired Allam cycle and provides insights into the thermodynamic inefficiencies within the cycle through exergetic analysis. The overall exergetic efficiency is 40.6%, with almost 100% carbon capture. The sensitivity analysis highlights the significant impacts of specific power demand of the air separation unit, turbine inlet and outlet pressure, and isentropic efficiency on the overall exergetic efficiency.

Effect of microwave-assisted curing process on strength development and curing duration of cellular lightweight geopolymer mortar

Teewara Suwan et al.

Summary: This study compared the effects of microwave-assisted curing process and traditional oven curing process on the strength development and curing period of cellular lightweight geopolymer mortar. The results indicated that the microwave-assisted curing process significantly improved early strength development, reducing both the overall curing period and energy consumption by around 75% compared to the traditional oven curing process.
