Temperature transformation of blended magnesium potassium phosphate cement binders

Laura J. Gardner et al.

Summary: In this study, a multi-technique approach was used to determine the high temperature performance of blended MKPC binders for nuclear waste immobilisation applications. The reaction between MKPC and FA/GBFS components resulted in the formation of potassium aluminosilicate phases. The study demonstrated that blended MKPC binders can satisfactorily perform under high temperature conditions relevant to the operation of a geological disposal facility.

Rheological behaviors of cement pastes with multi-layer graphene

Hongyan Li et al.

Summary: The study systematically investigated the effect of multi-layer graphene (MLG) on the rheological behaviors of cement paste. With the increasing MLG content, the yield stress and minimum viscosity of cement paste showed an overall upward trend due to the competition between adsorption and lubrication effects of MLG. The water adsorption and lubrication effect of MLG on the rheological behaviors of cement paste have opposite mechanisms and depend on the MLG content.

Effects of sulfates on the hydration of Portland cement - A review

Jose da Silva Andrade Neto et al.

Summary: Sulfates have a critical impact on cement hydration and properties, with the optimum sulfate content being vital for producing high-quality concrete. Further research is needed on the characteristics of clinker and calcium sulfate, the use of different supplementary cementitious materials and chemical admixtures, and the curing conditions affecting the sulfate demand of Portland cement.
