Computational and experimental approaches for chitosan-based nano PECs design: Insights on a deeper comprehension of nanostructure formation

Summary: Nanostructured polyelectrolyte complexes based on biopolymers are designed through computational studies to target drugs more effectively to specific action and absorption sites. The optimal pH range for preparing nano PECs was determined experimentally and computationally, resulting in successful preparation of spherical nano-sized particles with positive surface charge. The study also rationalized the addition order of biopolymers and drug, maximizing their interactions and drug entrapment efficiency.
