Kinetic study of carbonylation of ethanol to propionic acid using homogeneous rhodium complex catalyst in the presence of diphosphine ligand

Summary: Ethanol carbonylation is a potential route for propionic acid production, hindered by low space-time yield. By using specific diphosphine ligands, the reaction rate and space-time yield of propionic acid can be significantly improved. Factors affecting catalytic efficiency were studied, resulting in higher yields under optimal conditions.
