Widespread gaps in the quality of care for primary biliary cholangitis in UK

Mathuri Sivakumar et al.

Summary: This study reported on the first national audit in the UK assessing the quality of care and adherence to guidelines for PBC patients. The majority of hospitals did not meet all recommended EASL standards, with deficiencies particularly evident in optimal UDCA dosing, assessment of bone density, and clinical symptom evaluation. Further interventions are needed to improve guideline adherence and ultimately enhance patient outcomes.
