LhGST is an anthocyanin-related glutathione S-transferase gene in Asiatic hybrid lilies (Lilium spp.)

Yuwei Cao et al.

Summary: The study identified the LhGST gene in Asiatic hybrid lilies, which may be involved in anthocyanin sequestration and transport in lily tepals. Functional analysis confirmed the role of LhGST in anthocyanin accumulation. Additionally, the promoter of LhGST contains various hormone- and stress-responsive elements, and is regulated by a MYB transcription factor.

The apple 14-3-3 protein MdGRF11 interacts with the BTB protein MdBT2 to regulate nitrate deficiency-induced anthocyanin accumulation

Yi-Ran Ren et al.

Summary: This study revealed that MdBT2 undergoes posttranslational modifications in response to nitrate deficiency, and interacts with MdGRF11, a 14-3-3 protein, which negatively regulates the stability of MdBT2 protein via a 26S proteasome-dependent pathway. This leads to increased abundance of MdMYB1 proteins and activation of anthocyanin biosynthesis-related genes. The results demonstrate the critical role of 14-3-3 proteins in the regulation of nitrate deficiency-induced anthocyanin accumulation.

High promoter sequence variation in subgroup 6 members of R2R3-MYB genes is involved in different floral anthocyanin color patterns in Lilium spp.

Masumi Yamagishi

Summary: The study reveals that the spatially and temporally distinct expression of R2R3-MYB positive regulators creates unique anthocyanin color patterns in lily flowers. Differences in promoter sequences lead to varied expression profiles of the genes, resulting in the generation of diverse color patterns in different tissues.
