Aptamer-Linked CRISPR/Cas12a-Based Immunoassay

Hui Li et al.

Summary: A direct method has been described to establish the correlation between non-nucleic acid analytes and the CRISPR/Cas12a system using rationally designed DNA strands, enabling ultrasensitive detection of biomarkers from different species. The signal output is highly optional and the sensing principle is akin to ELISA, allowing for direct application on the currently available ELISA platform, further facilitating its use in medical diagnostics.

Seroprevalence of scrub typhus, murine typhus and spotted fever groups in North Korean refugees

Jihye Um et al.

Summary: This study investigated the seroprevalence of antibodies against scrub typhus, murine typhus, and spotted fever groups among North Korean refugees within 1 year of their arrival in South Korea. The findings suggest that rickettsial infections should be considered in the differential diagnosis for North Koreans with fever after entering South Korea.

Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering-Based Dual-Flow Lateral Flow Assay Sensor for the Ultrasensitive Detection of the Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone

Kyeongnyeon Kim et al.

Summary: This study developed a new concept of using a dual-flow SERS-based LFA sensor to improve detection sensitivity by flowing two different sizes of gold nanoparticle solutions. The sensor successfully detected thyroid-stimulating hormone less than 0.5 mu IU/mL, which cannot be measured with a SERS-based single-flow LFA sensor.
