Summary: This study demonstrates optical biosensors that combine silicon nitride sensor circuits with hybrid on-chip organic lasers, providing a simple fabrication process and highly parallel read-out of optical sensor signals. The integrated optical circuit driven by a co-integrated low-cost organic light source shows great potential for applications in biophotonics and point-of-care diagnostics.
