Exploring high pressure nebulization of Pluronic F127 hydrogels for intraperitoneal drug delivery

Helena Braet et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the potential of the thermosensitive hydrogel Pluronic F127 to be applied by high pressure nebulization, finding a delicate balance between controlled release properties and suitability for aerosolization. Denser hydrogels (20% and 25% w/v Pluronic F127) could sustain nanoparticle release up to 30 hours but cannot effectively be nebulized. As Pluronic F127 concentration and viscosity increased, aerosol droplet size also increased while aerosol cone angle exponentially decreased.

Influence of vessel curvature and plaque composition on drug transport in the arterial wall following drug-eluting stent implantation

Javier Escuer et al.

Summary: Arterial curvature and plaque composition play significant roles in drug transport following drug-eluting stent implantation, but these factors are usually overlooked in current computational models, which may lead to underestimation or overestimation of drug uptake and redistribution in arterial tissue.

Two-phase analysis of blood flow through a stenosed artery with the effects of chemical reaction and radiation

Bhavya Tripathi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a study on the two-phase analysis of pulsatile blood flow through a narrowed stenosed artery with radiation and chemical effects. The results show that the two-phase model fits more accurately with experimental data compared to the single-phase model, and the effects of different factors on fluid behavior in pulsatile flow are discussed.

Impact of temperature dependent viscosity and thermal conductivity on MHD blood flow through a stretching surface with ohmic effect and chemical reaction

Bhupendra K. Sharma et al.

Summary: The study investigates the flow characteristics of a viscous, incompressible electrically conducting MHD blood flow through a stretching surface with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity and viscosity, in the presence of thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, and chemical reaction. By numerically solving the resulting non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations, the effects of various physical parameters on flow variables are analyzed, providing valuable insights for industrial and engineering processes. The study demonstrates good agreement with previously published work and offers potential benefits for clinical treatment of pathological conditions involving accelerated circulation.
