One-step synthesis of gasoline fuels from γ-valerolactone with high selectivity over Cu/HZSM-5 bifunctional catalyst

Hongtao Wang et al.

Summary: A simple and efficient method for the high-selective conversion of GVL into gasoline fuels over designed Cu/HZSM-5 bifunctional catalyst in a single fixed-bed reactor was reported. The interfacial sites composed of metallic Cu and proton acid of HZSM-5 played a key role in determining the performance by providing a spontaneous C-O bond breaking path of GVL.

Deoxygenation of Bio-oil from Calcium-Rich Paper-Mill Waste

Muhammad Asif Bashir et al.

Summary: The study found that the catalytic deoxygenation potential of calcium-based de-inking sludge in co-pyrolysis mode with wood can improve the calorific value and reduce the oxygen content of bio-oil. Processing of neat de-inking sludge in a TCR system produces bio-oil with lower oxygen content and higher calorific value.

Methanol aromatization over Zn-modified HZSM-5 catalysts derived from ZIF-8

Haifeng Tian et al.

Summary: Methanol to aromatics (MTA) is an effective method to produce aromatics through a non-petroleum route, with the acidity and structure of zeolite catalysts being key factors. Different preparation methods and Zn sources significantly influenced the products distribution in the MTA reaction. Steam-assisted crystallization method was found to improve the crystallinity and pore structure of the ZnZ8 catalyst.

Coking mechanism of Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst in methane dehydroaromatization

Yu Gu et al.

Summary: The study shows that Brønsted acid sites play a key role in coke formation during methane dehydroaromatization. Modified catalysts exhibit lower naphthalene selectivity and higher C2 selectivity. It is proposed that aromatization is an intrinsic property of Mo, and Mo-associated carbonaceous species act as precursors for both coke and aromatics production.

Evaluation on energetic and economic benefits of the coupling anaerobic digestion and gasification from agricultural wastes

Xiang Guo et al.

Summary: The study proposed and evaluated the coupling of AD and digestate gasification, showing that solid digestate is suitable for air gasification, which can enhance energy recovery. In the biomass-to-electricity scenario, the excess heat from the CHP system can dry the solid digestate, leading to an 11% increase in total electricity from the coupling system compared to a stand-alone AD plant, providing technical support for the sustainability of the AD industry.
