Inhibition of miR-96-5p in the mouse brain increases glutathione levels by altering NOVA1 expression

Chisato Kinoshita et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that miR-96-5p regulates GTRAP3-18 expression through the RNA-binding protein NOVA1, and suggests that delivering a miR-96-5p inhibitor to the brain could increase neuroprotective activity effectively.

Enhanced antitumor activity of combined lipid bubble ultrasound and anticancer drugs in gynecological cervical cancers

Kohei Yamaguchi et al.

Summary: Chemotherapy is essential for treating gynecological cancers, and delivering anticancer drugs effectively with minimal side effects is crucial. The use of lipid bubbles combined with ultrasound can help enhance the therapeutic effects of cytotoxic drugs, with cisplatin and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin showing significant benefits in this drug delivery system. Bevacizumab, on the other hand, did not show significant improvements when combined with the bubble ultrasound-mediated drug delivery system.

Polymeric micelles in cancer therapy: State of the art

Balaram Ghosh et al.

Summary: Polymeric micelles are extensively used for delivering poorly soluble chemotherapeutic agents in cancer treatment. These micelles can be easily tailored by self-assembly of amphiphilic polymers to optimize drug loading, stability, and delivery to target tissues. The current trend focuses on developing various block polymeric micelles and stimuli-sensitive micelles to enhance therapeutic activity.
