LDH and PDH Activities in the Ischemic Brain and the Effect of Reperfusion-An Ex Vivo MR Study in Rat Brain Slices Using Hyperpolarized [1-13C]Pyruvate

Gal Sapir et al.

Summary: Ischemic stroke is a major global cause of neurological disability, and reperfusion is the primary treatment. Imaging biomarkers for evaluating the status of ischemic brain tissue are currently lacking. The LDH/PDH enzyme activity ratio may serve as a potential indicator for the status of ischemic and recovering brain tissue.
