Complete chloroplast genome of Kadsura coccinea (Lem.) ACSm. (Schisandraceae): genome structure and evolution

Hui-Zhen Qin et al.

Summary: Kadsura coccinea is a woody vine plant that produces edible red fruits rich in nutrients and antioxidant activities. The complete chloroplast genome of Kadsura coccinea is 145,413 base pairs in length, containing a pair of inverted repeat regions, one large single-copy region, and one small single-copy region. There are a total of 126 genes in the chloroplast genome, including 82 protein-coding genes, 35 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis shows that Kadsura coccinea is closely related to Kadsura longipedunculata. This study provides a foundation for further research on Kadsura coccinea.

Key taste components in two wild edible Boletus mushrooms using widely targeted metabolomics

Jinglin Li et al.

Summary: This study utilized metabolomics analysis to identify a wide range of metabolites in wild edible Boletus mushrooms, revealing significant differences in metabolites between Boletus bainiugan and B. subsplendidus. These metabolites play important biological functions and contribute to the taste differences between the two wild edible mushrooms.

Discovery of cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors from Kadsura coccinea by affinity ultrafiltration mass spectrometry and the anti-inflammatory activity

Xiang-Yun Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that (+)-Anwulignan from Kadsura coccinea may be a potential COX-2 inhibitor with significant effects on inflammation and pain relief. Combining AUF mass spectrometry, molecular docking, and in vitro bioassays is an effective approach for discovering enzyme inhibitors from traditional herbs.
