The potential ameliorative impacts of cerium oxide nanoparticles against fipronil-induced hepatic steatosis

Lamiaa Wasef et al.

Summary: Fipronil exposure can increase lipid levels, oxidative stress, and gene expression related to fatty acid metabolism. Cerium oxide nanoparticles show protective effects against Fipronil-induced hepatotoxicity, mitigating liver damage caused by FIP exposure.

Combinatory Effects of Cerium Dioxide Nanoparticles and Acetaminophen on the Liver-A Case Study of Low-Dose Interactions in Human HuH-7 Cells

Benjamin C. Krause et al.

Summary: This study investigated the interactions between acetaminophen and cerium dioxide, showing that cerium dioxide nanomaterials can translocate into other organs upon inhalation. Results indicated an attenuated cytotoxicity and altered metabolic profile in co-exposure experiments, suggesting an interaction of both compounds at these endpoints. Single exposure to cerium dioxide showed a genotoxic effect while acetaminophen exhibited no genotoxic effect.

ON THE POSSIBILITY TO RESOLVE GADOLINIUM- AND CERIUM-BASED CONTRAST AGENTS FROM THEIR CT NUMBERS IN DUAL-ENERGY COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY

Alexandr Malusek et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the performance of cerium oxide nanoparticles with integrated gadolinium in dual-energy computed tomography and determine the linear relationship between the Hounsfield value and the concentration of the I, Gd or Ce contrast agent. High concentrations are required to resolve the contrast agents.

Summary: A new type of theranostic MRI contrast, dextran stabilised gadolinium doped cerium dioxide nanoparticles, has been shown to possess excellent colloidal stability and high r(1) relaxivity. They demonstrate dose-dependent selective cytotoxicity to cancer cells, making them a promising option for safe and effective MRI imaging.
