Technology-enabledcollaborative care for youth with early psychosis: A protocol for a feasibility study to improve physical health behaviours

Peter Selby et al.

Summary: Individuals with psychotic disorders have poorer health outcomes and higher mortality rates due to cardiovascular diseases. In- and outpatient lifestyle interventions on diet and exercise and their effect on physical and psychological health: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and first episode of psychosis

Blanca Fernandez-Abascal et al.

Summary: The systematic review and meta-analysis on non-pharmacological interventions for diet and physical activity in non-affective psychosis patients showed significant improvements in anthropometric measurements, psychotic symptoms severity, cognitive domains, physical and global functioning, and quality of life. However, there was limited effect on blood metabolites and blood pressure. Further studies are needed to optimize interventions in this vulnerable population.
