Sex differences in coronary plaque changes assessed by serial computed tomography angiography

Mohammed El Mahdiui et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term effects of sex differences on coronary plaque changes in stable coronary artery disease patients. The results showed that women had less fibro-fatty plaque compared to men and women under 55 years old demonstrated a greater reduction in fibrous and non-calcified plaque over time compared to age-matched men.

Non-Invasive Prediction of Site-Specific Coronary Atherosclerotic Plaque Progression using Lipidomics, Blood Flow, and LDL Transport Modeling

Antonis I. Sakellarios et al.

Summary: This study successfully predicted the progression of coronary atherosclerotic plaques using computational modeling and lipidomics analysis combined with CCTA imaging. The multi-parametric predictive model demonstrated an accuracy of 88%, outperforming current computational models.

Triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol predict coronary heart disease risk in patients with stable angina

Chiara Caselli et al.

Summary: In patients with stable angina, high TG and low HDL-C levels, expressed by the TG/HDL-C ratio, independently predict coronary atherosclerotic disease outcomes. This association is related to various biomarkers, independent of LDL-C levels and treatments.
