Outcomes of delivery room resuscitation of bradycardic preterm infants: A retrospective cohort study of randomised trials of high vs low initial oxygen concentration and an individual patient data analysis

Vishal Kapadia et al.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the association between duration of bradycardia without chest compressions during delivery room (DR) resuscitation and hospital mortality in preterm infants. Prolonged bradycardia was found to be significantly associated with hospital mortality in preterm infants who did not receive chest compressions in the DR. Infants with both bradycardia and low oxygen saturation levels at 5 minutes after birth had higher odds of hospital mortality.
