Antibacterial Activity and Mechanism of Linalool against Shewanella putrefaciens

Thymol Nanoemulsion: A New Therapeutic Option for Extensively Drug Resistant Foodborne Pathogens

Summary: In this study, the use of thymol nanoemulsion showed significant improvements in body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and mortality of chickens challenged with extensively drug resistant Salmonella Enteritidis. The treatment enhanced the growth of gut Bifidobacteria species, strengthening the immune system. These findings suggest the therapeutic use of thymol nanoemulsion against resistant foodborne pathogens, with potential applications in immunocompromised individuals and veterinary fields.

Antibacterial mechanism of thymol against Enterobacter sakazakii

Summary: Thymol has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, and this study revealed its antimicrobial mechanism against Enterobacter sakazakii by disrupting cell membranes and interfering with intracellular homeostasis.
