The promoting effect of H2O on rod-like MnCeOx derived from MOFs for toluene oxidation: A combined experimental and theoretical investigation

Xiaodong Zhang et al.

Summary: The 3Mn2Ce catalyst shows superior catalytic performance and stability under high humidity conditions, mainly attributed to the formation of a solid solution between Ce and Mn species and better reducibility. The introduction of water can promote toluene mineralization by activating oxygen vacancies and facilitating the degradation pathway of toluene.

Insights into CO2 methanation mechanism on cubic ZrO2 supported Ni catalyst via a combination of experiments and DFT calculations

Xianglan Xu et al.

Summary: The CO2 methanation mechanism on Ni/ZrO2 catalyst was investigated using in-situ FTIR and DFT calculations, revealing that the formate pathway dominates for methane synthesis. The presence of ZrO2 support and Y3+ doping stabilizes the catalyst and enhances its activity.

Unraveling the effects of potassium incorporation routes and positions on toluene oxidation over α-MnO2 nanorods: Based on experimental and density functional theory (DFT) studies

Xiaodong Zhang et al.

Summary: The introduction of potassium species enhanced the catalytic activity of MnO2 for low-temperature reactivity and high destruction efficiency in toluene oxidation. The charge transfer balance ability of potassium in MnO2 promoted the activation of oxygen molecules and the formation of bridging bonds, leading to improved catalytic performance for toluene oxidation. Additionally, the presence of Brønsted acid sites facilitated toluene adsorption and the regeneration of hydroxyl species on the catalyst surface, promoting the degradation of intermediates.
