Black Au-Decorated TiO2 Produced via Laser Ablation in Liquid

Stanislav O. Gurbatov et al.

Summary: The rational combination of plasmonic and all-dielectric concepts within hybrid nanomaterials provides a promising route toward devices with ultimate performance and extended modalities. Fabricated hybrids with amorphous TiO2 nanospheres decorated and doped with Au nanoclusters demonstrate remarkable light-absorbing properties in the visible and near-IR spectral range, and were utilized to demonstrate applications such as a catalytically passive SERS biosensor and a solar steam generator.

Fabrication of bismuth silicate Bi2SiO5 ceramics as a potential high-temperature dielectric material

Kengo Sakamoto et al.

Summary: In this study, Bismuth silicate (BSO) ceramics were successfully fabricated for the first time using a sol-gel technique, achieving a high relative density and preventing thermal decomposition at low temperature. The BSO ceramic exhibited superior temperature stability and high energy storage efficiency, attributed to a sharp phase transition and unique polarization hysteresis loops.

Engineering of oxygen vacancy as defect sites in silicates for removal of diverse organic pollutants and enhanced aromatic alcohol oxidation

Debashrita Sarkar et al.

Summary: Efficient charge separation upon light irradiation is crucial for determining the photocatalytic activity efficiency. Oxygen vacancy rich Bi2SiO5 nanoparticles were synthesized using a hydrothermal approach to achieve superior charge separation. The incorporation of halide anions led to the generation of oxygen vacancy sites and preferential growth of the monoclinic phase. The synergetic effect of halide ions and oxygen vacancy sites on the surface enhanced the photocatalytic activity of the Bi2SiO5 nanoparticles.
