Straightforward activation of metal-organic framework UiO-66 for oxidative desulfurization processes

Alexandre M. Viana et al.

Summary: A novel chloride activation method was developed to enhance the catalytic activity of UiO-66(Zr) and UiO-66(Hf) materials in oxidative desulfurization reactions. The activation treatment significantly improved the catalytic performance of the materials, even after multiple reaction cycles, without structural degradation of the catalyst. This cost-effective method shows promise for efficiently activating catalytic MOF materials and expanding their catalytic applications.

Simultaneous removal of SO2 and NOx with •OH from the catalytic decomposition of H2O2 over Fe-Mo mixed oxides

Xuan Liu et al.

Summary: By adjusting the Mo/Fe atomic ratio of Fe-Mo mixed oxides, simultaneous removal of SO2 and NOx can be achieved, with the catalyst having a Mo/Fe atomic ratio of 2.0 showing the highest activity and efficient removal at low H2O2 dosage. The redox pair of Fe2+/Fe3+ plays a crucial role in decomposing H2O2, while Mo species have a dual effect on catalytic activity, showing promise for the simultaneous removal of SO2 and NOx in coal-fired flue gas.

Effect of different doping ratios of Cu on the carbon formation and the elimination on Ni (111) surface: A DFT study

Huayu Qiu et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on addressing carbon deposition on Ni catalyst during dry reforming of methane (DRM). The study reveals that introducing Cu into the Ni catalyst surface can enhance its carbon resistance and reduce the energy barrier for CH dissociation, suggesting that the dominant reaction pathway is CH* + O* -* HCO* -* CO* + H*.

A self-supporting UiO-66 photocatalyst with Pd nanoparticles for efficient degradation of tetracycline

Tianqiao Yang et al.

Summary: In situ growth of UiO-66 on zirconium substrate with 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid as ligand leads to the construction of a self-supporting photocatalyst. The decorated Pd nanoparticles on UiO-66 effectively enhance the photocatalytic performance for tetracycline degradation through efficient electron transfer and rapid generation of reactive species.

The nature and catalytic reactivity of UiO-66 supported Fe3O4 nanoparticles provide new insights into Fe-Zr dual active centers in Fenton-like reactions

Yue Yin et al.

Summary: Fe3O4 nanoparticles supported on zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks, UiO-66, were used to explore the interaction between dual active centers in Fenton-like reactions, resulting in increased production of hydroxyl radicals and singlet oxygen. This novel strategy provides insights for optimizing dual active center catalysts for Fenton-like processes in water remediation.
