Optimum geometrical pattern and design of real-size diagrid structures using accelerated fuzzy-genetic algorithm with bilinear membership function

Payam Ashtari et al.

Summary: A new method of fuzzy genetic algorithm based on bilinear membership functions is proposed for finding the optimal geometrical patterns and overall structural weight of tall buildings with a diagrid system. Results show that increasing the dimension of the structure can reduce structural weight, while also increasing the angle of the diagrid members. The accelerated fuzzy-genetic algorithm proves to be advantageous in terms of convergence and avoiding local minimum traps.

A wrapper methodology to learn interval-valued fuzzy rule-based classification systems

Jose Antonio Sanz et al.

Summary: Learning an interval-valued fuzzy rule-based classification system is challenging and a new methodology has been proposed to directly learn interval-valued fuzzy rules without building an initial fuzzy classifier. The new method focuses on optimizing interval-valued fuzzy partitions to achieve the most accurate classification system. The average accuracy rate of the new method is 81.17%, showing improvement compared to other state-of-the-art fuzzy classifiers.
