Experimental validation of a broadband pentamode elliptical-shaped cloak for underwater acoustics

Summary: This paper presents the numerical design and experimental validation of a pentamode cloak for reducing the scattering of elliptical targets in underwater acoustics. By using a linear quasi-symmetric map in elliptic coordinates, a pentamode cloak with constant anisotropic elasticity and non-uniform density was designed. Numerical validations and experimental tests were conducted to assess the effectiveness of the cloak in reducing scattering.

Summary: Nonreciprocal signal operation is achieved through the use of simply structured acoustic metagratings, which provide nonreciprocal and robust circulation of the acoustic signal over a broad range of flow velocity magnitudes and profiles. The design allows for tunability, including switching between reciprocal and nonreciprocal operation, and reversing the handedness of the circulator, offering a convenient and efficient approach for the realization of nonreciprocal acoustic devices from wavelength-thick metagratings.
