Tuning the electronic properties of Stone-Wales defected graphene using uniaxial longitudinal and horizontal strain: A first-principles study

Saed A. Salman et al.

Summary: The alignment between the Stone-Wales defect orientation and the applied strain direction significantly affects the electronic properties of graphene structures. Precise tuning of the band gap values can be achieved by selecting appropriate strain values and directions. Additionally, the applied strain has noticeable effects on the Fermi level, work function, and charge distributions.
