Posture-Invariant Three Dimensional Human Hand Statistical Shape Model

Yusheng Yang et al.

Summary: This study proposed a posture invariant statistical shape model (SSM) of the human hand based on 59 3D scans, utilizing skeleton alignment and linear blend skinning algorithm for posture correction. Principal component analysis (PCA) was selected as the method for constructing the SSM, which achieved high accuracy in fitting 3D hand scans.
