Mechanochemistry for ammonia synthesis under mild conditions

Gao-Feng Han et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates the feasibility of synthesizing ammonia under low temperature and pressure conditions using a mechanochemical method, resulting in a higher concentration of ammonia compared to traditional high temperature and pressure synthesis methods.Mechanochemically induced high defect density and violent impact on the iron catalyst were responsible for the mild synthesis conditions.

CoS2 Nanoparticles Supported on rGO, g-C3N4, BCN, MoS2, and WS2 Two-Dimensional Nanosheets with Excellent Electrocatalytic Performance for Overall Water Splitting: Electrochemical Studies and DFT Calculations

Priyakshree Borthakur et al.

Summary: Efficient and durable electrochemical water splitting using CoS2 NPs supported on 2D materials like MoS2 and WS2 was investigated. CoS2/WS2 was found to be the most effective catalyst for both hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions, with high stability and performance over 96 hours at a cell voltage of 1.6 V. Density functional theory calculations further supported the superior HER catalytic performance of CoS2/MoS2 and CoS2/WS2 hybrid catalysts.
