Highly-Dispersed Zinc Species on Zeolites for the Continuous and Selective Dehydrogenation of Ethane with CO2 as a Soft Oxidant

Jiaxu Liu et al.

Summary: This study presents the preparation, characterization, and catalytic performance of heterogeneous catalysts with highly dispersed zinc sites on zeolitic materials for the CO2-assisted oxidative ethane dehydrogenation reaction. The selective reactivity of the catalyst is attributed to the compositional structure and topology of the support.

Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane to Propylene with Soft Oxidants via Heterogeneous Catalysis

Xiao Jiang et al.

Summary: Oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to propylene can be achieved using conventional oxygen-assisted dehydrogenation or soft oxidants. Soft oxidants play important roles in inhibiting overoxidation and improving propylene selectivity. Significant efforts have been focused on developing different catalysts with recent emphasis on halogens and hydrogen halides for ODHP processes.

Stable Cr-MFI Catalysts for the Nonoxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane: Catalytic Performance and Nature of the Active Sites

Sudipta De et al.

Summary: This study reports a Cr-based catalyst for efficient ethane dehydrogenation to ethylene at low temperatures, with good stability and regeneration properties. Detailed analysis shows that using all-silica MFI zeolite as a support promotes the stability of the Cr catalyst, enhancing its coke resistance.

Dehydrogenation of light alkanes to mono-olefins

Chunyi Li et al.

Summary: Researchers are working on improving the catalysts and reactors for light alkane dehydrogenation to mono-olefins to address the high cost of Pt catalysts and potential environmental issues with CrOx, exploring new non-noble metal and environment-friendly catalysts. Additionally, reducing operation pressure can decrease the energy consumption of the entire process.

Oxidative dehydrogenation of tight alkanes with carbon dioxide

Guomin Li et al.

Summary: The oxidative dehydrogenation of light alkanes in the presence of CO2 via heterogeneous catalysis is a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach. Different types of catalysts, including metal oxide catalysts, metallic and bimetallic catalysts, and carbide and nitride catalysts, have been discussed for their role in this transformation. The catalytic performance of these catalysts for dehydrogenation of light alkanes with and without CO2 has also been evaluated.
