Before and beyond trust: reliance in medical AI

Charalampia (Xaroula) Kerasidou et al.

Summary: Artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare and raising questions about public trust. Trust should be seen as a result of an ongoing ethical relationship, not just a means to an end.

Summary: Mobile phone-based smoking cessation interventions show positive impact, but predominantly in high-resourced countries. The text message-based smoking cessation program implemented on the island of Rarotonga was successful, highly acceptable, and potentially cost-effective. Further evidence is needed to assess the value of such interventions in low-resourced settings.
