Effect of equity holding on a supply chain's pricing and emission reduction decisions considering information sharing

Liangjie Xia et al.

Summary: This study explores the optimal decisions, profits, and coordination of supply chain members in a low-carbon supply chain with cap-and-trade regulations, where the seller holds the manufacturer's equity. The findings suggest that the manufacturer always benefits from equity holding, while the seller can only earn higher profits through equity holding if certain conditions, such as the percentage of equity holding and consumer low-carbon awareness, are met. In addition, equity holding can incentivize information sharing between the manufacturer and the seller.

Summary: Recent research has shown the interdependence between closed-loop supply chain network design and line balancing decisions, leading to the development of a mixed integer non-linear programming model and an enhanced decomposition approach to solve the problem. Computational results demonstrate the efficiency of the enhanced decomposition approach compared to existing methods, highlighting the importance of integrating supply chain network design and line balancing decisions.

A robust mixed flexible-possibilistic programming approach for multi-objective closed-loop green supply chain network design

M. Boronoos et al.

Summary: This study introduces a novel multi-objective mixed integer nonlinear programming model for closed-loop green supply chain network design problem, aiming to minimize total costs, total CO2 emissions, and robustness costs simultaneously. By utilizing a robust flexible-possibilistic programming approach to handle flexible constraints and uncertainty in parameters, the study suggests that the carbon cap-and-trade policy is superior in most cases.

Designing profitable and responsive supply chains under uncertainty

Summary: In this study, a multi-objective two-stage stochastic programming model is developed to address various decision-making aspects within a supply chain network. By utilizing the epsilon-constraint method to generate a set of Pareto optimal solutions, treating uncertain parameters as continuous random variables, and employing the SAA scheme for near optimal solutions, the efficiency of the proposed solution methodology is demonstrated through computational studies involving hypothetical and real supply chain networks of different sizes.

A novel robust fuzzy mean-UPM model for green closed-loop supply chain network design under distribution ambiguity

Ying Liu et al.

Summary: Green closed-loop supply chain (GCLSC) is a supply chain focusing on economic and environmental performance by incorporating both forward and reverse flows of components and products in logistic networks. In decision-making, it is crucial to consider uncertainty and risk from network size and complexity, introducing novelty ambiguity distribution set and upside risk to quantify economic risk. A distributionally robust fuzzy GCLSC network design model is developed aiming to optimize worst-case performance with a trade-off between upside risk and economic cost expectation.
