In Situ Preparation of Composite Redox-Active Micelles Bearing Pd Nanoparticles for the Reduction of 4-Nitrophenol

Jiayi You et al.

Summary: The redox activity of poly(ferrocenylsilane)-based polymer allows for the successful preparation of various noble metal nanoparticles. In this study, Pd nanoparticles were in situ prepared using a redox-active platform of poly(ferrocenylmethylethylthiocarboxylpropylsilane) micelles, resulting in PFC/Pd nanocomposites with uniform dispersion of Pd nanoparticles at the surface of PFC nanospheres. The PFC/Pd NCs showed significant catalytic activity in the reduction process of 4-nitrophenol, highlighting their potential as a composite nanocatalyst, with PFC micelles serving as an ideal platform for nanocatalysts.
